So what is the visa approval letter?
Visa approval letter is a letter issued by the Immigration Department allowing foreigners to receive a Vietnam visa upon arrival at Vietnam international airport; borderland, seaport, or Vietnamese embassies/consulates abroad for the following purposes:
- Tourist/travel
- Business
- Working as a contract; investment
- Visit relatives
Visa duration and number of entry times into Vietnam:
- 1 month – single or multiple entries
- 3 months – single or multiple entries
- 6 months – multiple entries
- 1 year – multiple entries
Any agency or organization that invites or guarantees to apply for an approval letter for a foreigner to enter Vietnam have to come to the Immigration Department in:
– Ha Noi: 44 – 46 Tran Phu, Ba Dinh District.
– Ho Chi Minh City: 333-335-337 Nguyen Trai, Nguyen Cu Trinh Ward, District 1.
However, it is not really easy to get a visa approval letter, which is the reason that many agencies and organizations who want to apply for entry documents for foreigners must go through a third party such as travel agent or visa agency that specializes in this service.
How to apply for the visa approval letter
Below are the requirement to submit and apply for each type of Vietnam visa
a) Tourist visa
Applicants need to provide:
- A scan of the passport (only the first page that shows your information) or send us full details of your passport (include full name; D.O.B; nationality; passport number);
- Entry details about the date of entry.
- Arrival check-in point (at which airport, borderland, seaport…)
- The length of stay in Vietnam for us to process.
Standard processing time: 2 working days. Emergency visa service is available which takes less than 1 hour for you to get a visa approval letter even on the weekend or public holidays.
b) Working or investment visa
- Complete Visa application form online (NA2) at https://immigration.gov.vn/.
- Provide a notarized copy of the operating license of the company/office where the foreigner is working for (it can be the Business registration certificate, or investment license, or operation license of a branch or representative office).
- Sample seal and signature of guarantee enterprise/branch/representative office
- A notarized of work permit (for the type of working visa) or a notarized of investment Certificate (For customers who are investors).

c) visiting relative visa
- Complete Visa application form online (NA2) at https://immigration.gov.vn/.
- Provide a notarized copy of the operation license of the company/office where the foreigner is working for (it can be the Business registration certificate, or investment license, or operation license of a branch or representative office) or guarantee and sponsoring letter from your Vietnamese spouse that has approved from local police.
- Proof of personal relationship

How much does a Vietnam visa approval letter cost?
Depending on the type of visa or visa purpose, the visa service fee, which you have to pay for us, may differ.
