What’s Vietnam e-Visa requirements?
- Passport must be valid for more than 180 days.
- A photo in .jpg format of passport data page image
- A portrait photography in .jpg format (4×6 cm without glasses)
- A valid international credit or debit card
- An email address to get a visa result or update (if required).
How to apply for Vietnam Evisa?
Step 1: Visit website https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn/ then select “personally apply for E-visa ” or click “here” at the selection for outside Vietnam foreigners.
Complete the rest spaces. There are some points that you don’t need to complete if it’s not require with special signal (*).
At “e-Visa request information“, you have to select the type of visa “single” or “multiple“. And visa duration is maximum of 90 days.
It should be note about “Intended date of entry“: you can come anytime during your validity but CAN NOT enter and use the evisa before it’s validity start.
Once you have completed online form, you have to select “I assure that I have truthfully declared all relevant details‘ and fill in “Captcha” before “Review application form“.
The system will switch to a new page so that you can check the information again => confirm and complete the Vietnam e-visa declaration. Then you will be received “registration code” via email; select a payment method in order to complete the visa application procedure.
Vietnam E-visa processing time
Normally, you will receive your E-visa within 5 working days in Vietnam time (excluding weekends and national holidays) after the fee is paid in full and the application is fully invalid. In case the application needs to be further verified by the Ministry of Public Security, the actual processing time may last from from 5 to 30 working days.

Vietnam E-visa important notes:
- E-Visa is issued for foreigners who are currently abroad, wishing to enter into Viet Nam (not to foreigners who are currently temporary resident in Viet Nam).
- Vietnam E-visa cannot be applied in groups, each application is for only 01 applicant.
- The information on the e-visa cannot be modified once the visa application is done. If you want to change your information, you need to apply for a new e-visa.
- Your visa is valid from the start to end dates specified. Therefore, you can enter the country any time within those dates.
- Unlike visa on arrival airport, people who has Vietnam E-visa do not need to queue at Visa on Arrival counters. You just need to submit your printed E-visa and passport directly to the immigration counter.
- E-visa cost is non-refundable, so ensure your application contains full information and no mistake.
Vietnam Evisa Extension
Currently, Vietnam e-visa can not be extended.
