Except for some visa waiver cases, foreigners are required to obtain a valid visa with a passport to enter Vietnam. And to get a visa, you need to contact directly with Vietnam Embassy/Consulate nearby or apply online to get a visa on arrival (VOA). In particular, VOA is becoming very popular as applicants can save a lot of time when they do not need to visit and apply for a visa directly at the Embassy/Consulate. Furthermore, the Vietnam visa on arrival fees are very cheap, and this will be discussed in detail below.

Vietnam visa on arrival cost
Currently, there are 02 basic fees that foreigners need to pay when using a visa approval letter to get a visa stamp upon arrival at a border checkpoint in Vietnam.
– Vietnam Visa approval letter fee or service fee: pay directly to visa agents, travel agencies … for these units to handle your visa application at the Immigration Department.
– Stamp fee Vietnam visa on arrival: is the specified fee that foreigners need to pay after presenting the visa approval letter and required documents to Immigration officers on arrival border checkpoint to be affixed with visa stamp in the passport.
1. Visa approval letter fees
Each of the visa agent/visa company, travel agency …has its own service fee. And here, we give an example of the service fee – provided by Vietdreamtravel Limited:

2. Stamping fee for a visa on arrival
As mentioned above, the stamp fee is regulated by the Vietnam Government as below:
- $25 for 1 month or 3 months single entry visa.
- $50 for 1 month or 3 months multiple entry visa.
- $95 for 6 months multiple entry visa.
- $135 for 1 year multiple entry visa.
So in the total, how much do you have to pay to get a visa to Vietnam?
Here is an example for you:
You choose a 1 month single entry tourist visa, the visa service fee is $15 + the stamping fee is $25, so the total cost is $40. And if you want to add an expedited service (4 – 8 working hours), the total cost will be $40 + $20 = $60. (Why so cheap ^^!).
When could you get a visa approval letter?
Working time is from Monday – Friday.
Morning: the time to receive requests is before 9:00 am and return results at 12:00 (noon).
Afternoon: request is accepted before 14:00 am and return results at 17:00 (pm).
Some important notes:
- In urgent cases, especially urgent 4-8 hours and 1 working day, please contact directly or send your request and pay service fee before 9:00 am. If not, the time to receive your visa approval letter will be fall in the next working day.
- Your passport must be valid for more than 6 months from the date of entry and has at least 02 blank pages.
