A Vietnam holiday visa is the first factor to consider for your vacation to the country. How to get a travel visa to Vietnam?

Luckily, it quite easy to obtain a Vietnam tourist visa in many ways as below:

1. Apply for a visa at the Vietnam diplomatic mission office.

Visa applicant can check and apply directly at one of the Vietnam Embassy/Consulate offices to get a visa stamp into your passport before coming to the country.

2. Apply and buy a visa online

Another optimal and convenient way is buying an online visa, often called Evisa and visa on arrival. At the moment, the Vietnam Evisa valid for only 30 days – single entry and granted only 81 countries and territories. It also takes 3 – 5 working days to process a visa.

However, the Vietnam visa on arrival processing time is taking faster. Applicants can obtain a holiday visa within 2 workings days in normal processing time or less than 2 hours for emergency service. Furthermore, citizens of all countries and territories around the world can apply to get a visa on arrival.

The procedure of applying Vietnam holiday visa online

To apply for a Vietnam travel visa online and receive a visa sticker on an arrival border checkpoint in Vietnam, you have to complete or provide information as below:

  1. Full name details that appear on your passport
  2. Your birthday and nationality or the passport you are using to enter Vietnam.
  3. Passport number: as shown on your passport and check your passport validity which must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival.
  4. Complete entry point and date. It should be noted that can only enter Vietnam right or later than the proposed date.

How much does it cost for a Vietnam traveling visa?

There are 2 types of Vietnam holiday visa fees you need to take note of before applying.

1 . Stamping fee (paying at Vietnam international checkpoint to get official visa stamped into your passport):

  • $25/pax for a single entry visa
  • $50/pax from 30 days to less than 90 days multiple entries visa
  • $95/pax from over 90 days but less than 180 days
  • $135/pax from over 180 days but less than 365 days

2. Service fee: paying to visa company to handle visa procedure and send you a visa to Vietnam

  • 1-month single entry: $15
  • 1-month multiple entries: $17
  • 3 months single entry: $20
  • 3 months multiple entries: $30

Note:

  • All the rate mentions above are USD.
  • Until now, only US passport holders can apply for 6 months or 1-year multiple entries to Vietnam.
  • If you want a visa letter of approval on the same day of applying, you can use the urgent service or an emergency case with an additional visa fee.

So in total, how much do you need to pay to get a Vietnam holiday visa? Here is an example: you apply for a 3 months single entry visa which costs $20, then it takes 3 days for you to get a visa approval letter. On arrival airport, you need to submit the visa approval letter and pay $25 for the stamping fee. All if you need to pay is $45.
