Vietnam business visa, categorized by DN1 and DN2, is granted to those entering Vietnam for business purposes specifically issued for the following subjects:
- Visa DN1 – issued to foreigners working with other enterprises and organizations with legal status in accordance with the Law of Vietnam.
- Visa DN2 – granted to foreigners who enter porridge to sell services, establish a commercial presence, or perform other activities under international treaties to which Vietnam is a member.

Type of Vietnam business visa
Depending on the length of stay (validity of the visa) and the number of entries to Vietnam, the business visa is divided into the following categories:
- 1-month visa for 1 entry.
- 1-month visa for multiple entries.
- 3-month visa for 1 entry.
- 3-month visa for multiple entries.
How to obtain a business visa to Vietnam?
In order to get a business visa, applicants have to with a sponsor company or visa agent in Vietnam to apply for visa approval letter, also know as or Vietnam Entry Permit, Vietnam business visa approval letter… Required documents include:
- Provide a notarized copy of the operating license (Business registration certificate or investment license, or operating license of the branch or representative office) of the sponsor company.
- Complete form NA16 – Company seal and signature sample.
- Complete form NA2 – Entry application for foreigners entering Vietnam.
After preparing the above application forms, the sponsor company need to submit at https://dichvucong.bocongan.gov.vn/ to submit your application. Processing time is 5 – 7 working days after they have completed the registration procedure.
Business visa at Embassy/Consulate of Vietnam
Normally, the sponsor company will choose and fax visa approval letter to one of the Vietnam Embassy nearby you. Then you have to go to the office with:
- Original valid passport
- Visa approval letter and fax code
- Stamping fee (please contact with the office to get more details about their regulated fees).
It should be noted that faxing process may takes 2 – 3 days and
Visa on arrival (VOA)
Instead visiting one of the Vietnam Embassy/Consulate, some sponsor companies choose to work with visa agent in Vietnam to make a visa approval letter for foreigners to get a visa stamp on arrival airport. This procedure is really helpful for those who stay far away of Vietnam Embassy or don’t have free time to visit the office to obtain visa stamp. It’s very simple as below:
- Print out the visa approval letter to do check in with your valid passport.
- Should prepare 02 passport photos with white background, no glasses and bare head.
- Cash for stamping fee: USD 25$ for single entry or USD 50$ for multiple entries visa.

Applicant for a Vietnam Evisa can select entry purpose as “Business Activities”. You have to upload a picture of yourself, a scanned picture of your passport, personal details, pay the visa fee, and wait for the visa to be processed. Business visa can be extended from 1-3 months. Documents to extend a business visa include:
- The original passport with valid visa
- Complete form NA5 – Application form for visa extension, visa renewal.
- A notarized copy of the business license of the sponsor company.
- Registration of temporary residence for foreigners.
- Complete NA16
- Referral letter
- A copy of the visa approval letter
After having fully required documents, you have to submit them to the Immigration office where the hosting organization is located.
