Who can enter Vietnam during COVID 19?
On November 2nd, The Vietnam Immigration Department has announced the following cases that can enter Vietnam:
- Foreigners are experts, investors, business managers, skilled workers; and their relatives being fathers, mothers, spouses, and children.
- Foreign students and students who are studying in Vietnam.
Requirements to enter Vietnam in COVID 19
At the moment, foreigners need to have a sponsor from an institution or organization; a company in Vietnam, to help you solve out all paperwork as below in order to enter Vietnam.
- Visa approval letter from Immigration Department
- Approval letter from People’s Committee
- Hotel Booking + Driver Contact/Transportation from the airport to your chosen quarantine hotel
- Letter sent to CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) with their stamp of reception
- Insurance or Commitment of sponsoring company/institution in Vietnam.
Also, foreigners need to do check their passport validity and do RT-PCR Test results (REAL TIME RT POLYMERASE CHAIN REACTION TEST) within 3 – 4 days in advance before coming to Vietnam.
How long does it take to get all the necessary documents to enter Vietnam?
It takes around 3 weeks to get the approval letter from the People’s Committee and the Visa approval letter. Then another couple of days to book your flight ticket, choose a hotel, and send them back for the sponsor company/institution to do CDC for you.
Note: The processing time could take longer when your sponsor company/institution is not located in a big city such as Ho Chi Minh, Ha Noi…
How much does it cost to enter Vietnam during COVID time?
The visa fees to Vietnam always depending on your company sponsoring location and nationality. But due to the COVID situation, you have to pay extra for quarantine services, health check…and here is an example about service fee (provide by Vietdream travel. Ltd).
- Visa approval letter for a Japanese sponsor by a company in Ho Chi Minh city (include visa letter, approval of the People ‘committee, CDC): 400USD/1pax
- Quarantine services at a 3 stars hotel in Hochiminh city (include a booking at Superior room for 15 days, 3 main meals for a day, covid test, transportation service, VAT…): 1500USD/15 days.
Total: 1900USD exclude flight ticket, RT-PCR Test result before coming to Vietnam, visa stamping fee at airport or Vietnam Embassy/Consulate…
