South Korean citizens DO NOT need an entry visa for a stay of a maximum of 15 days in Vietnam. It should be noted, after your 1st visa exemption period, you have to wait outside Vietnam for at least 30 days to get the next visa exemption period. Therefore, you need to apply for a visa to Vietnam when you want to spend more than 15 days in this country or a gap between two visa-free is less than 30 days.
In order to enter Vietnam, your passport needs:
- Be valid for at least 6 months before coming.
- Have at least 02 blank pages left.
How to get a Vietnam visa for Korean citizens?
There are 02 ways for Korean passport holders to apply for a Vietnam visa.
1. Get a visa at the local Vietnam Embassy
Contact the local Vietnam embassy/consulate in Korea (if you are residing in Korea), or in nearby countries (if you are not residing in Korea currently) to get a visa stamped on your passport before coming to Vietnam.
2. Get a Vietnam visa on arrival
The easiest way to get a Vietnam visa from South Korea to apply for a visa on arrival (VOA).
With VOA, you apply online via vietnamvisaletter.vn by taking 3 simple steps as below:
- Fill out the secure online application form, and make payment of the service fee
- Receive the visa approval letter via email. Normally in 2 working days (for tourist visa) or 7 working days (for business visa), attached with the Vietnamese visa application form (also known as Entry and Exit Form).
- Submit the visa letter to get a visa sticker upon arrival at the Vietnam border checkpoint.
